Ilya Gorelik grew up in Riga, Latvia when it was part of the Soviet Union. In 1991, he immigrated to Los Angeles with his family and quickly embraced both California and capitalism. Having studied computer programming in college, Ilya pursued a career in IT. Over the last 15 years, Ilya has written software programs for a number of firms, including Countrywide, TCW, Buy.com and PixelPushers. He met his wife Kim at a dotcom start up in Orange County; they now have 2 children, Natalie and Dean.
Ilya has always been passionate about real estate, and started investing in rental properties on the West Coast in 1997. In the next few years, Ilya expanded his real estate portfolio into Texas, Arizona and South Carolina. In 2006, he relocated his family to Asheville and redirected his real estate investing strategies to WNC.
Ilya enjoys working with other real estate investors, whether they’re buying their 100th property or their first. He has the skills, passion and experience to help investors identify and purchase properties to fit their investing needs.
